Rotatrix Wired Assembly Testing Procedure
Run through this after assembling the kit, before putting the case screws back on.

Plug in the USB-C cable. The left side light should blink white 3
times to indicate it's connected, then turn off. On Windows, the
computer will play the USB connection sound. Open the Rotatrix app
and check "Rotatrix Connected" is displayed a
couple seconds after plugging in.
No side LED / not connected? Check the USB-C cable is fully seated at both ends, and try a different cable or port. Reseat the USB-port connector on the board. If it still isn't detected, contact support.

Check ball movement matches the ball — rolling the ball should move
the cursor, and twisting it may scroll. Roll 90° in X and Y and
visually verify it's within 10° or so. Twist 90° and verify as well.
Ball not moving at all? Carefully check the FFC ribbon connections to the optical sensors — each latch flipped down and the ribbon fully seated.Ball only moves horizontally or vertically?
- In the Rotatrix app status page, click the small gray "Show sensor data".

dx1/dy1= SIDE sensor,dx2/dy2= TOP sensor. - Check the FFC ribbon for any sensor that stays at 0.
- Check each of the four buttons lights up in the Rotatrix app when pressed (and, depending on the button, may send a mouse click).
- Move the 3-position switch to each position and check the side LED blinks red for top, green for middle, and blue for bottom.
- On the right side, press and hold the DPI button and check the DPI LED is blue while it's held down.
LED indicators
The left side light signals the board's status when it isn't being driven by the app:
| Blink pattern | Meaning |
|---|---|
| 3 quick blinks, then off | Connected — normal operation |
| Rapid, continuous blinking | No USB connection — check the cable and port |
| One quick blink per second | USB suspended (computer is asleep) |
| Two quick blinks then a pause, once per second | Hardware error — contact support |
